A master template (a .pptx master) defines the look of your slides: backgrounds, color palettes, fonts, logo placement, and available layouts. Decky reads this file when generating a deck and applies your brand design to every slide.

Upload a template

Open the dashboard

Go to app.decky-ai.com and sign in.

Open Masters

Click the Masters tab and choose your .pptx file.

Wait for processing

Decky uploads the file and extracts the available layouts within a few seconds. The template takes the file’s name, so rename the file first if you want a different name (e.g. Acme Corp 2026.pptx).
Limits: Up to 3 templates per account, 30 MB each. To add a new one when at the limit, delete an existing template first.

What makes a good master file?

Use a .pptx exported from PowerPoint or Google Slides (File → Download as .pptx).
The more slide layouts you include, the more design variety Decky can apply. At minimum include a title and a content layout.
Add your brand colors to the theme palette (Format → Theme → Colors in PowerPoint). Decky extracts these for text and accent colors.
Place your logo on the slide master, not just on individual slides, so it appears consistently.
Not sure where to start? Any existing company presentation works — Decky will extract the design from it.

Use a template when generating a deck

Ask Claude to list your templates first:
“What brand templates do I have available?”
Claude calls list_masters and returns something like:
Then generate a deck with it:
“Create a 10-slide sales deck about our enterprise security product. Use the Acme Corp 2026 template.”
Claude passes master_id: "7c2e9b40-5d1a-4e6f-8a3b-0f4d6c2e9a57" to create_deck automatically.

Template tips

Remove a template

Go to Masters on the dashboard, find the template, and click Delete. Decks already generated with that template are not affected.
Deck jobs that are still queued or running with that template will fail. Wait for them to finish before you delete it.
